Providing Readers Advisory for Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Yule, and Kwanza can be a daunting task for staff. Setting up effective book displays as well as using other forms of passive readers advisory can allow patrons to find the titles they are seeking while also shining a light on materials that may see the bulk of their circulation during a few months. It is also important to include materials that are fall, harvest, winter, and snow themed to include those who do not celebrate these particular holidays.

Join Passive Readers’ Advisory expert Lila Denning for an hour of all the ways that you can leverage your book displays and other forms of passive readers advisory to patrons of all ages. You will learn how to combine physical and digital materials to showcase your holiday collection She will also show you how to design these displays and replicate the idea online, where possible.

Attendees will learn how to:

Understand the basic features of book displays and other forms of passive readers advisory as a readers advisory tool and well as marketing tools.

Identify best practices for creating well-designed passive readers advisory tools.

Discover themes, titles, and planning ideas for your library.

Find ideas to inspire your passive readers advisory efforts
