Description

Policies are an integral part of library operation. Library staff are often relied upon to be the primary enforcers of library policy. How can managers ensure that carefully crafted policies are interpreted and enforced as envisioned and intended by library administration? What if they aren't? This webinar will discuss strategies for ensuring that policies are interpreted and enforced consistently and appropriately across the library entity.

At the end of this webinar, participants will:

  • Be able to identify ways that existing polices can be modified to better communicate the intent and violation to staff responsible for enforcing.
  • Be able to discuss with staff legal and appropriate methods for identifying policy violations in an objective manner.
  • Be able to identify methods for introducing DEI informed enforcement techniques into policy enforcement.
