Setting healthy boundaries and learning to say no are two of the most difficult professional skills to develop. Yet the cost of permeable boundaries and endless people-pleasing includes burnout, resentment, and disengagement. Paradoxically, too many indiscriminate “yeses” also make us less effective by shifting our focus away from our best work and highest contributions. In this engaging and interactive program, Rebekah Cummings shares her personal journey of digging into the literature on time management, boundaries, and wellness to reclaim her time and build intentionality into her schedule and priorities.
Drawing upon researchers and leaders from various disciplines, this webinar explores practical and theoretical concepts to prioritize our time, mitigate burnout, and identify meaningful and impactful work.

Instructor: Rebekah Cummings is the Interim Director of Digital Matters at the University of Utah Marriott Library where she coordinates digital humanities research, teaching, and support. Prior to her current position, Rebekah was the Assistant Director of the Mountain West Digital Library and the Data Management Librarian at the Marriott Library. In 2018 – 2019, Rebekah served as the Utah Library Association President and has since co-chaired the ULA Advocacy Committee. Rebekah has a BA in Philosophy from California State University, Long Beach and an MLIS from the University of California, Los Angeles with a specialization in data curation.
