Ready to Read Michigan goals are to equip public library staff with information, skills, and tools needed for them to promote early literacy in their community and to engage families using the 5 practices of Every Child Ready to Read.

Join Narrative Consultant, Jen Strauss for a Ready to Read Storytime Tune-Up designed with Youth Librarians in mind!

In this 90 minute webinar, Jen will:

  • Share basic early childhood brain science to help you make the connection between Storytime activities and your young patron's growing brains.
  • Review the Ready to Read Five Practices and give participants a plethora of program ideas for each of the five practices to use right away.
  • Introduce a Template that will help you include the five practices in your Storytime plans.
  • Discuss our role as Language and Literacy Mentors for parents and caregivers.
  • Present ideas for collaborating with Community Partners for Storytime along with ways to share resources that will help families with young children.
